Great job from Lewis, I'm not really a fan (or a Merc fan) but I respect his talent and this wdc was very well deserved!
Ps to the trolls who reckon this season was boring, you clearly haven't been watching!
It was quite odd, first the team saying "let us know when you want the car turned back up", later Ham saying, sounding almost desperate "please dont turn my car up the pace is fine"321apex wrote:Who is "they" ?Manoah2u wrote: Nico was having troubles and they decided early to 'down' the power on the Mercedes of Lewis to prevent a repeatance of a similar occasion earlier in the year. How did they want to accomplish this deed when "they decided early to 'down' the power on the Mercedes of Lewis to prevent a repeatance of a similar occasion earlier in the year" ?
What Hamilton said seemed like trying to revoke ongoing team's actions thru external software manipulation of his race car's on-board system via communications from the pits, which forever was illegal and as far as I know still is.
Q: (Livio Oricchio - Globoesporte.com) Lewis, can you explain to us more about the turning point at Spa-Francorchamps? What happened exactly when suddenly you started winning, winning, winning - probably this is the main reason you are here, celebrating the world title?
LH: Yeah. Well, Spa was a low moment. It was a very difficult scenario to be in and going back years ago, I wouldn't have reacted the way I did this year. I would have chosen another way which wouldn't have been a positive and I guess with age, as I said, and just maturing and having a different perspective on life, I think I handled it a different way, I really thought for the following days and really turned my focus to a different area. I came back to the next races with a slightly different approach and I won't explain exactly what I did because I need to bring it to the next races next year but I did tweak some of my approach throughout the weekend which helped me get those wins. I've still got some improvements to make, qualifying was good this year but could be better. It would make it much easier if I could get qualifying sorted because the race pace is very much there. Inside the team? Nothing really changed, I don't believe. The team has been amazing. It's been very hard for them. They've wanted both of us to win, having to be very balanced but ultimately they've done an exceptional job. It is a great group of people in this team; t
here's a lot of love in this team, a lot of passion and it's been a real privilege to work with these people

Well said, you put words to my thoughts.Moose wrote:I actually feel like the exact order of events somewhat deceived us.
In the end, both Rosberg and Hamilton had 3 car failures that caused them to drop completely out of the points. Once we shake that out, we see that hamilton is 67 points clear of Rosberg (42 without double points). The fact that Hamilton got hit with his 3 failures earlier in the season than Rosberg did means that the championship appeared somewhat closer than it really was. The reality is that Hamilton beat Rosberg in a pretty devastating way - he was 6 whole race wins ahead (6 * 7 = 42), 9 if you include double points.
