McLaren MP4-26 Mercedes

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

As per my pic above, it's longer than the Ferrari and probably roughly on a par with the Red Bull.
they're not scaled the same. But yes, I suspect that it is on the long side.

Yes it is pull rod.

The second air inlet on the airbox is for gearbox and hydraulics cooling, said Tim Goss.

nah, to me more like that ugly ferrari from the mid nineties. The macca doesn't look ugly though.

So what do people think, is this sidepod thing going to work? And if so, why didn't anyone else come close to designing it?

It's the forum traffic. Happens every time there is a car launch.

This car has front exhausts.

It's there. The pipe is an ovalled rectangle.
Turning vanes also there on top the floor

well spotted the exhausts... but makes me think. would they go thru all that trouble to add some mikey mouse exhausts at the rear if they was going to have a pipe at the front?

Also does it have two splitters/snow plough one just under the nose, could that work in conjunction with the side pods??
