Bah, Norris will finish 9th. What happened to Hamilton, who came out of the pits right net to Russell? Decent racing by Norris, got mugged behind the RBs at the start.

It's not the fault of the team in my opinion. The GP dried up too fast. In any case Lando Norris would be comfortable 3rd if Verstappen hadn't mugged him.

no ones fault IMO - some bad fortune and not making the optimum tyre choice given hindsight. Still, in straight line drag the car looked ok to me

Obviously it's not the team's fault and that's not up for debate. Norris did a great start and had the upper hand after that first turn and I have a feeling he could have held Perez compared to that slow Hass but Verstappen happened. By trying to avoid Verstappen who can't accept that he doesn't race alone he pushed the brakes and lost a lot of positions. What can you do? Onwards to tomorrow's race and hoping for a better result as the car does seem to have gained speed.

Evidence so far this season suggest Mclaren warm up their tyres pretty well and if there was ever the perfect conditions to capitalise on such an advantage was right there.
They did the right thing with Piastri and look how that improved his race- he beat Leclerc who was miles ahead of him on the inter running!

Lando wasn’t in the points when the switches were being made to slicks so it’s not like it was massive gamble. If he was P4 then staying out was the right thing but he wasn’t.

Hard luck to Lando getting caught up in the wrong spot losing positions. Oscar was flying on the softs. That pass he did on Albon was mega.

I am still pretty annoyed by what Verstappen pulled there. That would have been a podium with either 2nd or 3rd.

Only caught the start. Very unlucky with the incident. Probably a comfy 3rd, lost after a RB squabble.

Leclerc pitted and finished 12s behind us. I'm not sure we would have fared much better.
