I saw a photo of Mclarens car...those burn marks don't look all that healthy...
he did NOT do the 1.17,9 yet

@InsideFerrari When do you guys actually plan on doing low-fuel quali laps?

@iamBrettCollaco Not here in Jerez :-)!
If someone said to me that you can have three wishes, my first would have been to get into racing, my second to be in Formula 1, my third to drive for Ferrari.

grosjean tops the time at the moment with a 1:18.419 on a 9 lap stint looks like that Lotus might be competative this year.I know its only testing but looks promising.

Renault (now Lotus) last year looked to have a good car floor up last year, but floor down they had a poor car. Its looking to me as if they have taken alot of time to get the car right floor down. The car looks compeditive and has a good baseline that is easy to work with. Lets hope they can develop the car in the right direction and score good points this year, with a good posium or two.

Well Roseberg just put in a 1:17.613 and pits in straight after, no idea if they were running EBD.

Can someone tell me why there running there old car, could they just be testing the tyres.

I got told there hiding the car for Catalunya becuase theyve got a new type of nose/front, i think i was on lee mckenzie twitter.

Now Rosberg is reminding the team who is quickest at Mercedes. 1:17.6

Yeeep :)

If i remember rightly Mark Webber said he could manage a high 1:16 with there 2011 end of Spec car (Brazil car).So that looks like a very fast laptime from rosberg

They are Running EBD. It is the old nose they are just testing a passive f-duct front wing.
The reason for running this car is to primarily to test tyres using a stable base that the team know back to front(W02), rather than test a new car and have idea that work and some that dont, with the added complexities of a new tyre.

They are keeping it simple.
More could have been done.

Not for sure, no. He was usually a few 10ths up on MS and often a second when driving 10/10ths in quali.

1:17.6 is realistic for a fully developed car at this track in last years specs. Besides, it would be Schumi they run light since he is the sponsor draw.

Also, Nico is young and likely to get quicker each year. MS is not.

OOPS wrong thread... fixing...

you can expect better times than yesterday ....it was zero when I got up this morning but warmed up nicely by midday , slightly cooler than yesterday but ok , still clear blue sky

but yesterday the wind was really tricky all day long , now almost flat calm , and it has made the track far easier , hence the big improvement from rosberg compared to schu

probably go back after lunch as alonso will be about , hopefully the hulk as well
