First name on the list of 12, which includes Lord Sebastian Coe, is Jaime Bergel, Chairman at Bacardi-Martini SA.

Other member of the group are Michel Combes (President & CFO, Sprint), Lee Daley (Former CEO, Saatchi & Saatchi), Carl-Peter Forster (Chairman Chemring Plc, Chairman LEVC, Board Member IMI Plc, Volvo Cars Group and Geely Automobile Holdings Group), Jean-Marc Huet (Former Board Member, Formula 1), Blake Irving (Board Director & former CEO, GoDaddy), Rob Kauffman (Chairman, NASCAR Race Team Alliance), Rob Malcolm (Former President, Global Marketing, Sales and Innovation, Diageo), Richard Solomons (Former CEO, InterContinental Hotels Group plc), Greg Spierkel (Former CEO, Ingram Micro) and Keith Weed (Chief Marketing and Communications Officer, Unilever PLC).

Surprised there isn’t a thread on Daytona anywhere - or if there is I can’t find it - but shame about the problems for Alonso’s car, he and his team were doing well before that.

Still, the exercise is to get used to sportscars in preparation for Le Mans and in that it seems useful; in a way, having issues during the night are the kinds of things you want to get used to handling, from an emotional perspective.

Also interesting to see onboards with Fernando early on, during traffic, really looking around a lot and using his mirrors fairly frantically. You don’t always realise how different a challenge sportscars are in this regard, even for someone with Alonso’s experience, and he’ll have gained a lot by doing this.

Both Alonso and Lando are currently doing very well, quite impressive with the highlight being Lando's stint in the changeable conditions during the night. Bodes well for McLaren in the driver department.
