Wonder what are the problems? 🤔
Red Bull went all in on the '21 championship, they fought with both hands free. They might be a bit taxed from that effort. Their rivals chose to fight with one arm with a smaller profile of aerodynamic in-season development and more resources allocated to '22 ahead of time. Come March-April we will see what they all got.
I think maybe its the balance thats not up there yet.. max said it has less grip

Hurdles are not the same as problems.

How do you differentiate them? By definition it means problem.

One hurdle that Red Bull would've had to solve which I'm curious about is how do they plan to recover front downforce. The last couple of years they have run the car very much on the nose. Forward balance and center of pressure, to get the rotation in and let the drivers handle the movement of the rear axle. It suited Max hand in glove, and is a quick way around a track.

But seeing the new cars, especially the Aston Martin with its front wing up in the air.. that would be a massive departure of philosophy for Red Bull. Mclaren have made a different compromise in running the front wing a bit lower to the ground and accepting less airflow to the floor. You'd guess that Red Bull will want to do that too, but thats still a long way off last years asphalt eating wing. I expect them to want to pivot the car front down on track, with some clever suspension tricks. However the rules have been tightened in that area too. I think Red Bull in particular would have had to really dig deep to adapt to the new regulations given it suits their style so badly.

A hurdle can also be something you still have to learn or something you are unfamiliar with. A problem is much narrower in definition: when something is wrong

Either RedBull is serious trouble.... Or they have total rocketship! It's just too quiet...

Okay, and can you elaborate with some examples of what would be a hurdle for Red bull and what would be a problem?

This is just a glass 'half full or half empty' comment. But looking at the question that was asked (basically "What were the biggest problems?"), you'd be a pessimist to explain the hurdles in the answers to be a serious problem.

Important to note that he speaks in past tense, so the hurdle's of problems are already overcome. If you want to take anything else from the actrice, you're just makings things up.

I would say that in the context here hurdle is simply a euphemism for problem...

I saw some interesting information on another forum why now the logo of HRC is on the RB18 and not Honda.

"January 14, 2022,
Starting this season, Honda will further strengthen its motorsports operation and capability
BY ADDING AUTOMOBILE RACING ACTIVITIES to Honda Racing Corporation (HRC), which has been operating Honda’s MOTORCYCLE racing activities."

"In the 2022 season, based on a request from the Red Bull Group, HRC will support Red Bull Powertrains which will supply the PU that employs Honda’s PU technologies to Scuderia AlphaTauri and Red Bull Racing."
Great article about HRC. https://global.honda/newsroom/news/2022/c220114eng.html

I just think that:

- They are a bit late, as usual
- Maybe even more with 21' championship fight
- Car we be ready soon for the shakedown

So I think it is a challenge for them to have a car ready for testing, and I assume they will have a full new package for first race.

I think it is all about finding right path. Going with right concept. Even if car is not fully ready it will not be that much problem.
