12 laps, 12 second gap. Literally no chance. I think Merc got tricked in to pitting their mediums early.

I was shouting at the TV when they decided to pit on good mediums.

How can a team with all these clever people and fancy data not realise wasting life that was left in the mediums and going hard was idiotic.

Merc screwed themselves pitting so early off the best race tyre onto the hard which has clearly not been quick. All of the drivers running long on mediums are getting better results

Who else is on mediums right now and flying? I know it seems that way in hindsight, but ham would not have had a much better tire/lap offset and be that much closer to reel Max in if he stayed on mediums. Its just not even close man. Rb is too fast.
