Not a matter of a different strategy. Max is cruising don’t be fooled to think otherwise. RB far too fast. Did we actually think yesterday this was going to be close? Three teams, six drivers? Looooool.
Merc screwed themselves pitting so early off the best race tyre
Yup. If they did the soft it would have pressured RB I’d have imagined. I’ll reckon Perez will turn it up with about 5 laps to go

Sam Collins saying there's no way Verstappen could make it with a 1 stop.... Lol :)

Perez tire whisperer falling away slowly, Verstappen still going steadily. =D>

Would have change nothing. The tyre deg is too low on the RB. Seen Leclerc at Monza.
From the look of it merc could’ve gone to lap 50 and done what Dan Ric is doing now
I thought that was the obvious strategy, it seems like they got spooked/tricked by Perez "going on to 2 stop".
Yep. Perez's pace on his first couple laps were ridiculously fast. Think RB baited Merc

12 laps, 12 second gap. Literally no chance. I think Merc got tricked in to pitting their mediums early.
I was shouting at the TV when they decided to pit on good mediums.

How can a team with all these clever people and fancy data not realise wasting life that was left in the mediums and going hard was idiotic.
Aye. Very odd.
+1 to all that.

They were literally on the best strategy and reacted to RB carrying out a worse strategy.

I couldn't understand why they gave up the entire advantage they had.

It also blows my mind Merc didn't split the strategy between the two cars.

Surprised they haven’t told merc to get the hammer down. With 15 laps left they should have called that

Alonso's problem looks very similar to Canada. Some sort of ERS issue with dropping power.

Perez finished mediums now. Falling back all the time.

Merc screwed themselves pitting so early off the best race tyre onto the hard which has clearly not been quick. All of the drivers running long on mediums are getting better results
Who else is on mediums right now and flying? I know it seems that way in hindsight, but ham would not have had a much better tire/lap offset and be that much closer to reel Max in if he stayed on mediums. Its just not even close man. Rb is too fast.

Don't see why Alpine did this.

The car was broken. Why ruin the race?

Edit: Okay that was a super quick recovery.
