manchild wrote:WB, can't you see the f*cking white line parallel with the pitwall? Area between pitwall and the white line is NOT race track. Rubens was pushed all the way off the track. Fact that the area is made of same material doesn't mean nothing. Scumaker left him zero space on race track, and he was already passed by 50% length of the car. Adelaide 1996, Jerez 1997... remember?
I'm almost inclined to disregard such an unqualified comparison, manchild. Schumacher wasn't actively driving into Barichello today. Barichello was putting himself into a wedge aimed directly at the pit wall. Michael should have yielded to give the fool more space. He didn't and suffered the penalty.

He admits Schuey did wrong, but can't admit Barichello did the only thing he could if he wanted to pass Michael... Going to the left wouldn't have worked WB! He'd be stuck on the outside line of the corner and wouldn't pass him...
Which is why that pass was unsafe in the first place and provoked Schumacher to more unsafe driving. Rubens should have tried round the outside or have backed off. The way he did it, he isn't much better than Schumacher. Unsafe.
Stop defending MS and trying to blame Rubens. By your logic, 90% of all passes should be considered unsafe  This is a classic overtaking move - try take the inner racing line before the corner and out-brake the guy ahead.
I did not defend Schumacher. Pay a little more attention, please. And the classic passing maneuver on a straight is not pointing your car into a pit wall and relying on the other driver to yield to your move. If you have no space on the inside simply do not go there.

Pointing his car into a pitwall?
That's a weak diversion. Rubens was headed for turn 1, nothing else.
Maybe you are deceived from the perspective view.

If you mean Rubens was going to pass shumi on the right then yes.

Rubens can jam his car anywhere he feels. Even brundle was saying that Rubens should jam his car up shumacher's inside blindly and let shumacher handle the rest.

The attacker can weave and dive brake test, as long as he is the attacker, it shouldn't change what the defender is required to do.

Check out Hamilton barichello 2009. That's a text book wall move.

The move that Schumy used ought to warrant his banning for the rest of the season imo. At that speed where there is 10m of track to his left there is no excuse to continue pushing someone so far to the edge of the track - especially since he did the bulk of the move after Rubens had an overlap. As far as I know and as the stewards agree - that it's not on.

A few inches different and we'd be looking at a major crash with potentially serious injuries or deaths.

Very interesting race, which is quite unusual for Hungary. Again Red Bull find a way not to get the 1-2 finish that their huge performance advantage clearly merited. Superb drive by Webber though and several good performances down the field as mentioned already.

As for Schumacher, it's always a question of degree with these things, but that was too close for my liking. The 10 place grid penalty is fully deserved in my opinion - all in all this comeback isn't looking too clever so far...

All set up perfectly for the rest of the season now, 5 drivers within 20 points of each other, 4 of whom are in championship-winning form at the moment (I'm excluding Button, who seemingly just can't overcome the McLaren's deficiencies as well as Hamilton).

Can't wait for Spa!

Yer, I don't think Vettel got favoured in that race! He can say what he likes about his radio failing but I think it's clear that RB were trying to get Webber a jump so they could get themselves a 1-2 finish. Vettel just went rather too far.
Seb admitted in the press conference that he screwed up, he thought there was one more lap under SC and it was compounded by Rocky's radio failure - that's why we heard Horner on the radio passing instructions (this isn't the first time it's happened).

I love a good metaphor:

Rubens Barrichello: “I don’t want to go to heaven before Michael…”
Rubens Barrichello made his feelings about Michael Schumacher’s driving in Hungary clear by suggesting he didn’t want to beat his former team mate to heaven.

If he wants to go to heaven before me – if he goes to heaven, I don’t know if he goes to heaven. But if he wants to go before me, go up or down, I don’t want to go before him
Good stuff!

Or Alonso's radios (Ok well there were some). How about Webber's "not bad for a number 2 driver?"
I'd have been just as angry as Seb was had I been in his position!

RBR's amateurish experience levels really showed up again in this race didn't they?

Gugu, are you really going to use the "he made him do it" defense? That's pretty pathetic.

What do you do with stuff like this? Laugh or cry?

"...wasn't actively driving into Barichello" (sic). Brilliant! A text book example of blind loyalty.

Clearly this individual was looking at the race from a parallel universe wearing his best Deutsche Vermögensberatung hat and peering through glasses supplied by Willi Weber.

Rubens is talking a little too much. You can tell he really wanted to do that for a very very long time.
His trash talking is good for the sport though. All drivers should talk like this, it caries over more feelings into the next race, and I hope he goes side by side with shumacher in spa again.
This time lets see shumacher pass him on the inside and see what he does.
Rubens is a guy who talks and keeps talking once a mic is in front of his face. All this Micheal is internalizing and will take his revenge in spa or Monza.

Micheal likes the 10 spot penalty actually, increases the chances to send Rubens into a wall again, and try shut him up for good.

I predict a crash between Rubens and Michael. Would be great if they took each other out and had a proper old-style helmets-on trackside punch-up. Haven't seen one of those for years.
