Point 1: Agree that the FIA need an auditor at each team, but Ross Brawn has ideas that could start in time for the 2013 season for CFD and Wind tunnels, i believe its all on what is to be called R&D credits.kalinka wrote:FIA really need an auditor who actually has a workplace at every team if they want to be 100% sure. I'd say scrap wind tunnels completely, and enable CFD nonrestricted. Wind tunnel upgrades are much more expensive than CFD upgrades + small teams probably never can build own wind tunnel....
Point 2: WInd Tunnel upgrades are needed every second year now, Renault just spent €2.5m on upgrading their tunnel, Wirth spent the same upgrading the Virgin CFD facility this year as well.
Point 3: Virgin and Team Lotus will build their own new tunnels in their new factories if they can get the land at Silverstone to build on, which will give them both the resource to compete with the established in F1 within the next 5 years. Virgin will probably get their place designed by McLaren Applied Technologies and Tony Fernandes is looking for a place large enough at Silverstone to put F1, GP2 and Chatham all in the one building.
