He said they need to bring something to every GP. Looks like that doesn't necessary mean they will.

Any way I think Ferrari are just too honest about every update they have. They always talk about updates and when they will come. As if they have to defend them self.
If you look at RB they mostly don't talk about anything they have or will have.

Lets talk about updates, WHEN THEY APPEAR. Not just waste time with speculation,... will they,... won't they.

Pat Fry says Ferrari has a few small updates for Monaco aside from the usual Monaco spec package. New Front Wing & Rear Wing Package for Canada and still working on exhaust system. Pat Fry says Ferrari will test new versions of the exhaust system.

Yes Fry says some small updates for Monaco. Front & Rear wing for Canada and most importantly they better understand the exhaust and have been working on new solutions/iterations. I suspect since he says new exhaust solution we may see it in Canada or possibly Valencia.

I doubt about the DDRS for two reasons:
1. Ferrari have lot more issues to deal with, rather than introducing something that's useful only in Q and two or three times in a race.
2. Their tube (survivor cell) is really thick:

The rest of the packaging is really tight.

probably not all of the frontal area of the front bulkhead is the thickness of the survival cell...and i agree that DDRS is mostly useful in qualifying..there are some benefits to be found come race day as well..not directly related to top speed and drag reduction...(see DDRS thread)...also if the other top teams decide to develop it ferrari could fall behind in qualifying...

Possibly yes. In regards to Mercedes' implementation, this is what I was talking about (probably already posted) -

Let's see what happens, but I still think that teams will put more effort in understanding tires.

Scuderia has Hamashima, Alonso said that they understand tires quite well... I would prefer to see new exhaust on Gilles Villenueve rather than DDRS, but something big will be seen there, no doubt.

DDRS is not the best use of their resources at this time. If I cook the most amazing steak, slightly pink in the middle and perfectly tender, then dump it on top of a pile of crap, would you still want to eat it?

There there, Lycoming. The tires are the same for everyone. (Or so they say.)

I agree in that I think DDRS is a waste of Ferrari resources. There are other things the team can concentrate on that could give more benefits. Quali sure is important but it's not proved a significant advantage so why bother.
