Remember the Cosworth v-8 CA that ran 20,000 rpms in 2006 in the Williams in Brazil

The concept by Ferrari and the Adrian Newey ultimate F1 car. Is not the way F1 should go in my opinion. Those cars have too much bodywork. Formula cars never have much body work, its about a clean car. For me an F1 cars must have 4 wheels that aren't boxed in by bodywork, when the moment comes when that stops then it isn't a formula car anymore. the DW12 indycar has rear protection because of the speeds they are doing on ovals when they are racing closely. But in F1 thats is not necessary. The Audi concept is the best modern interpretation i have seen yet of F1. Its clean, but aggresive and proportions are right and the big wheels just make it look like real monster.

Looks kind of cool, but like the Ferrari concept, I see some problems with putting that into worded technical regulations. Look at the sidepods, there is almost a sharp edge on them, yet the rest of it is enclosed continuous surfaces. I would bet if the minimum surface radius in the side pod area was scratched, then winglets, cooling chimneys and cooling louvers would be back also. I can only see this concept working in a spec series, like the Ferrari concept.

It says 'red bull formula 1 2017 concept' at the top.

Personally, I don't particularly like it. It's very slim, much like the current cars, which I don't favour vs pre 2009 cars which were wider at the rear and looked a bit more 'muscular'.

I think the Ferrari concept is the most interesting, but the Williams is probably the most realistic - not a huge departure from current cars but, again, adds a bit more 'muscle' to the visual appeal; if combined with a more impressive engine sound, I think this pretty much does the job.

It's not a Red Bull Concept. It's the same guy who did that Williams Monstrosity, only this Time he put a RB Sticker on it.

It looks kinda ok from the Backend up until the Front suspension, but the whole front is ugly as Hell.

It also says the artists name on it.. Its his concept of a future red bull, not red bulls concept of a future red bull.
Just like the Williams posted a few weeks ago, made by the same guy.

So the correct sentence would be "according to Andries van Overbeeke"
"If the only thing keeping a person decent is the expectation of divine reward, then brother that person is a piece of sh*t"

Im not too needy, but i would want to see a shorter wheelbase, double exhausts (positioned at the back, no coanda versions) and shorter noses without strange excesionaries. Abandoning the DRS would be a nice gesture as well. Wider rear wing and narrower front, with less flaps on it. Simplicity is perfection 8)
If i would get the money to start my own F1 team, i would revive Arrows

I really think DRS will stick around, especially if the cars get wider. Without DRS overtakes will be scarce, like during the pre-'09 era.

Engine rev. limitations were the reason why the overtaking became difficult. U cant expect to see miracles, if everybody has the same RPM number and somewhat power of the engine. To ensure overtaking again, there should be more tyre suppliers as well, so we would be seeing more action and tactics. Now all they do is, that they open the flap and here we go. I personally dont see this as a overtaking worth wathching.

Old man wants V8's 1000 HP

Is it possible with 2.4 liter once? I thought those were only around 770 HP before the development was frozen

Even the old 3.0 liter V10's were doing only 950 HP

Old man is nuts,

what scares me is the Red Bull (without racing Teams) wants to buy F1 commercial rights from CVC,

I'm not sure if I would like Formula Mateschitz...

probably will evolove into some form of Hillclimbing Rachau thing...

With lots of noise and Kaboom and even less sport... but maybe I m wrong on this.

V8 is dead, hybrid and electric are the future come what will.
Finishing races is important, but racing is more important.
