I believe that is probably the exact car they had taken to Silverstone for filming or the exact car for Winter testing. These camera pods are used for testing purposes only of course. Probably has a dozen sensors or lenses in them.

Hm. In case of the nose tip i guess i am wrong. The silver painting is starting earlier. The area is larger but the area of visible carbon fibre is less big. And perspective takes impact too. Not easy...

I loved the aerodynamical detail of the W06. But the new car is so amazing in this aspect. It is much more detailed. Refined.

... hence Intake boxes are now wider.

Good spot. And the opening has moved more towards the rear.

(the pov and angle of the pictures does not fit. not possible to measure something. just useable for a slight comparision.)

The nose shown on the W06 is the launch spec/first iteration nose. Later on in 2016 Mercedes updated the nose to design very similar to the W07's.

Can we trust wheelbase?

I've been working on something myself for a while now and decided to use the wheelbase measurement from the W06 (I thought it may have had one of the shorter wheelbases in the pitlane) as a foundation. I estimated the W06's wheelbase from a high res profile image and got a figure of 3490mm. In short I think the 3475mm shown is accurate.

I've had one of those in a frame for a month or so, I don't think they would put any sensitive info on them when they send them out to people to say thanks for the work.

Is it above the wedding photo as a sign of priority?

due to the face that the side impact structure is sticking out the side pods on W07 and not on W06 but the opening has visually the same Form, I think the inlet is smaller now.

When I have some time I will look for some good pictures with geometric comparable areas and then calculate the area.
