Timing data suggests Hamilton and Rosberg were fairly evenly matched at this track in 2014. Outside of reliability and logistical issues, I'd go with Hamilton.

Agreed! But this one was Flavio's.
Sorry for going off topic, but could me tell me more about the story?
From https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1994_Form ... ontroversy
A refuelling fire on Jos Verstappen's Benetton car at the German Grand Prix led to renewed [cheating] allegations and an investigation by Intertechnique at Benetton's team factory. Following the investigation, the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) revealed Benetton had been using an illegal fuel valve without a fuel filter that allowed fuel into the car 12.5% faster than a legal fuel valve.
Flavio Briatore was managing director of the team at the time.

Googled this yesterday, found an old source saying 71% and a more recent source saying 68%, but both were secondary sources with no reference to their primary source. However, Renault just published this:

How about, in the race it looks like it's going to rain, everyone pits for inters, Alonso just drives past the pit entry so he's forced to do another lap on dry tires. As he's nearing the end of the parabolic turn, he notices it's not raining on this half of the track, and as he makes the hairpin he sees clearing skies some damp but still drivable track ahead of him, and him suddenly leading the race. He decides to push on, the track is rapidly drying, losing about a second per lap to Hamilton on inters, until suddenly the track is drying and Alonso is now beginning to build a gap to Lewis. So he's forced to pit for dry tires as are a lot of other drivers, now 30 seconds ahead with 30 laps to go, Alonso drives his heart out and manages to fend off a charging Hamilton that catches him with 3 laps to go.

It's one of those boring days at work.

I think the protagonist in your story is more likely to be Button, but I would love to see that race either way!

Even with rain I see Hamilton being the strongest. This track suits the Mercedes perfectly well and he is strong in wet. The only difference I could see if Rosberg having problems, RB over Ferrari and the Spaniards showing their skills with a wet track.

Special mention of the astroturf, which should discourage exceeding of track limits.
