i don't know never driven either but just drooled over the pics
You can pick up GTA's for very reasonable money - a good one is a great car to own, fairly easy to keep running (I've had mine for years). I don't think you will buy better performance for your pound spent. Hint,
hint .....
why are you selling?!?!?!

For me, it would be the Ferrari F40. Its basic, no electronic aids, so you can get on with true driving.

OK, if I had the money, THIS would definitely be my first expense:

Koenigsegg CCR:

ImageI must say, I would have chosen another color.

ImageDefinitely the orange one!

ImageYes the roof comes off. Believe it or not, the roof fits into the trunk.

ImageOw my god, I think I'm falling in love...

...and it only weights 1180kg which is not much for such a car.
Did I mention it's power output? No, I didn't. Well here it is: 806BHP!!! It also has a quite impressive torque figure, since it delivers it's max. power at 'only' 6,900 rpm.

Full specs: http://www.koenigsegg.se/thecars/index.asp?submenu=4
Koenigsegg has a great website btw.

Dauer-Porsche Le Mans (already mentioned by Wazo) is the fastest legal road car with 402 km/h an 0-100 in 2.7.

If I had the money I would build a car with a couple or even three Rolls-Royce Spey engines (although I like the Merlins/Griffins that the Spitfires and Lancasters used to run) It would have a coefficient of drag around .001 preferably less, weigh less than 1/2 a tonne (minus engines) 2 wheels mounted either side just forward of centre, with a skid on the back which lifts up when travelling over 100Km/h, it would need around 70 times as much downforce as an F1 car, 160 times the power, and I would be too scared to drive it. I would employ Andy Green to do that.

Someone must see what I'm on too by now?
