Williams FW42 speculation thread

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Poor Williams.. and I do mean poor. I just watched the Frank Williams documentary on Netflix and it's sad how they've fallen from the F1 god's graces. Good thing Kubica brings $$$ with him.

ROKiT is apparently a new phone brand. Their website is a work in progress, it currently has pictures of phones and nothing more. I assume the sponsorship fee arrangement depends on Williams' points or TV exposure or something like that.

A new sponsor is only positive. And the livery is pretty good!

I red somewhere that Orlen deal is supposed to be worth arround 10 million. Rexona and Rokit have much bigger exposure, which means more money so i believe that they are not so poor after all. Ofcourse still far behind the big top three teams, but overall they should be confortably in the middle of the field in terms of money. If they want more, they will need results.

They were in far worse position in 2011, 2012 and 2013 that they are now. Back then they had no title sponsor and they still managed to survive.
If i would get the money to start my own F1 team, i would revive Arrows

Probably not a coincidence seeing as Signal and Rexona are both Unilever brands. Fastest tube of toothpaste ever

Let´s be brutally honest, that "livery" doesn´t even look like a formula 1 car... It looks like some amateur entry on some remote amateur competition.

It was quoted that Frank Williams made sure never to have any red on his cars again after the 98-99 disasters..

then again im pretty sure last year was one of the worst if not worst season ever

White and blue would be from Unilever, I'm guessing they're paying the most even though they arent the title sponsor, along with the nostalgia factor of the team being white and blue for so long.

alas, there is no good news. Among other things, they are very late with the assembly of the car. Saturday's filming day is very at risk and even the first day of testing.
