Maybe a sign that they are way behind on floor development? To still hit the downforce target to keep the tires a bit alive... they need this shovel.

That shows the work Mercedes did on the sidepods - look how much smaller it all is to the rear from the S of the Syntium logo. Compare that with last year's which is really lumpy in comparison. No doubt that was helped by the change to the high sidepod entry allowing the radiators to be further forward because they'll be a bit steeper.

But that silly length makes them look unproportionate, it looks so bad imo
