Alpine Renault A523 speculation thread

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Could be. My only other explanation would be that the A523 was not ready, but they wanted to shakedown the power unit in the A522 for some reason.

I feel like I can see a downwashing crease in the sidepod. Looks like it's very similar to the mcl60 in terms of sidepod

I don't see any sharkfin (but maybe it's because it's black).

To me, it seems the sidepod flancs / pink area kinda returned to their 2022 1st GP shape (top)
And the undercut before them remains rather short. not Ferrari short, not RB long, middle length, like A522A

Wow, someone with a camera delivered.

There's a kink on the top of the sidepod edge, like the Red Bull.

In my estimation, AM, RB, and Alpine all will have a very similar sidepod.

Alpine still has the very ugly cooling inlet however...

Is it because of the angle or they've added mirror winglets?

Yes I see winglets like ALpha Tauri last year?

Just me or are the sidepod inlets looking very squared off ? it's obviously not a good angle of them though

And yes the sidepod is similar to what they had in their bahrain test in 2022 but with the downwashing crease behind the mirror "supports"

With the same sort of sidepod and the same sidepod inlets as in 2022 Bahrain test.. it seems like they abandoned a few things they did as development in 2022
