This is the first Mercedes in the ground effect that looked completely identical to the renders. :o

Thinnest sidewall to push out the front-tyre wake AND no shoulder to protect the high energy flow on top of the sidepods. Seems like they struggle to learn the lesson

There is a steange black "thumb" protruding from the top of only the right sidepod. Probably a camera?

I can only see the Beam wing and what I suspect to be the rear brake cooling.

IR sensor to look at tyres probs?

Coanda on the belly of the sidepod, probably works in conjunction/tandem with the new throat to the floor leading to the diffuser. Could be a way of accelerating the flow in that region.

Was that McLarens 2014 car in the first hybrid year - before they switched to Honda the following year?
