I think you hit the nail on the head there. Piquet is seemingly out of his depth with this car and is going to be absolutley annihilated in the season to come.

I don't think so. Why waste time with Nelson trying to find a good setup? Let Piquet do the reliability tests and longer runs to understand the tyres etc. While Fernando mainly focus on testing new parts and finding a good setup. Sounds logic to me. Also, don't forget Nelson had a lot of bad luck with the weather and issues with the car since his tests were always the first 2 days of 4.
Lets wait for at least Melbourne to draw conclusions.
