RB needed the dominant finishes too much to throw it away. But soon he's going to have to draw that line in the sand (gravel trap?) that says "you get what you give", 'cause right now every top driver knows he can lean on Vettel. If Vettel is truly to be World Champ he HAS to obtain the upper hand.
he´s not hamilton.
both chaps, mark an seb have not got the most out of the equipment so far ,pole is the first step in the weekend only.

He is by far the best driver in F1 at the moment.

If anything, it is the fragile Red Bull that is overrated. Good car, but damn is it fragile?!

He´s not.
He does not overtake very well ,does he? He has done some immaculate qualy 3 performances, credit to him.But Webber has hit back now and i feel they are evenly matched right now.

the virtuosos have to be Hamilton and Alonso and possibly Schumacher but that is not yet proven to be true still or again...

"Is Vettel overrated?" Well, I guess that depends on how you rate him. I rate him as one of the top 2 or 3 young drivers in F1 right now. Though, I admire Massa, I'd rather see Vettel in the red car.

I'd rate Vettel over Rosberg. Better than Kubica? Now that is an interesting one!

Don't hold it against Vettel because he has the best car -- remember Heiki K?

Since when did Heikki K have the best car?

Behind the scenes nobody knows what happened at McLaren. Suffice to say Heikki has kept his council on the matter since leaving McLaren bar on one occassion when he said he wasnt treated equally at McLAren and he could point exactly why and how if need be.

His memoirs will probably be worth reading for that alone.

And see how Heikki is destroying JT at Lotus

Heikki had his chance and blew it... he is not a top level F1 driver. Look how he followed around Vettle the whole race at Monza 2008. Lewis would have easily passed Vettel given the same oppurtunity.

Was Lewis' special treatment the reasonwhy Heikki crashed so many times?

If Lewis got any special treatment from McLaren it is because he earned it.

Next week we'll be hearing how Button complaining about Lewis' special treatment.

and both will not be world champions..

I don´t think any of the current F1 drivers is useless ,but sometimes one just wonders whats going on there..
Vettel was boosted in Toro Rosso and really benefitted from Webbo not being fit last year.but the proof will be this year. For the second time in a row he has a car good enough to win the championship.

Being the teams prefered driver, Hamilton got all the update and preferential treatment but no one really complained. Yet when Schumacher had the same at Ferrari everyone was constantly moaning about it. How on earth does that work? Hyprocricy nmethinks.

To those that doubt HKs situation at McLaern, I refer you an interview with Mike Gascoyne in F1 Racing magazine earlier in the year. Gascoyne stated that during the contract negotiations, HK was asking for various things that he did not have at McLaren that he obviously wanted at Lotus. Mike Gascoynes' reaction was that should he not have those things anyway so the the team moves forward.

Now before the hamilton fanboys start getting upset and responding with insults etc, this is not a dig at Hamilton but a statement of FACT.

Given the lack of experience of both drivers, neither should have got preferential treatment and how a rookie was allowed to be favoured over an experienced driver with 2 WDCs that were earned racing the best defies belief and is quite telling of Ron Dennis' running of McLaren.

Just my tupence worth. 8)

Andrew +1

But the real story was how McLaren treated Alonso in 2007.

Yes alonso himself was not acting in a decent manner either. If a World champ signs up to be team number one, and does not get said status, does he not have reason to be a bit peeved?

The debate about team number ones can rest for a later time, suffice to say Hakkinen Schumacher Alonso and Hamilton all had that status.

Why did McLaren act in a way that Alonso need to have an FIA inspector to make sure there was equal treatment within the garage?
Fanboys can bang on about alonso sour grapes, but a world champion does not request an auditor to be made to see all is well in the garage unless somthing is badly awry.

On topic Webbo did a number on Vettel this weekend, the German Wunderkinds stock is as tumultuos as the stock markets....

Ref Alonso :in all honesty ...if my employee is blackmailing me ....I cannot understand how on earth he is able to find a job in this business anymore, end of story.that is for more than Schumacher ever did to harm his reputation and I do not understand how on earth this is kept under the carpet.

Media perception? I'm sure some moronic journalistic hacks have a downer on Germany and still act like it is 1945.

I don't believe in equal treatment, the best driver must get the best treatment because he is the one that brings home the bacon. I do believe in equal equipment though, as that will increase the chances even more.

I´m sure this is utter nonsense.preference of one driver...
ook at those headcounts in F1 to build two cars and spares to race every other weekend.there is not much justification in giving one of your driver preference let alone hold one back..just imagine in todays media world if one has proof and gets sacked ...the consequences are terrible...see piquet..
What is happening is drivers getting more involved in the team and carving a niche for themselves.
And of course some people just make great pairings and groups and will be able to go that little bit further or develop that air of confidence that makes the difference.
Vettel seemed to be riding this wave since Toro Rosso and Webber was hold back by his accident.

Webber is better in 2010 than he was in 2009, so much is clear. But he is still very prone to silly mistakes when the going gets tough and much more so than Vettel who usually is very cool. He just has all the bad luck lately with reliability. Just have a look again at your copy of the Australian race where Webber spun at the pit exit and later ran into Hamilton. Vettel made no such mistakes but suffered from another left front brake failure.
