paffet is not only the reserve driver , he has also done all the simulator work for developing the 2011 car as well as the 2010 upgrades

bearing in mind that pirelli will not finalise the spec until after actual testing , and are offering the teams alternative strategies , perhaps paffet is the best driver to help decide the team's feedback after these tests

I do not really see Webber returning for another go at the championship .He has too often talked about the end of his career looming how could he motivate himself after that seasons end plus beeing convinced that Seb is now even firmer supported by the team.I see it as RBR has won the title with the guy they wanted to win it with ...so I´d guess Mateschitz will generously leave him a bit of his retainer for 2011 and not ask him to come back..?

How are they actually testing? Is it a back-to-back comparison test between the Bridgestones and the Pirellis? 1 car per team as per normal testing, and most importantly, anyone know the times when they'll test, and if there are online streaming channels for the tests?

Not surprised Alguersari will drive for Red Bull and Webber won't be at the Pirelli test. It's the end for Webber. I'll be very surprised if Alguersari ends up with a drive though. It's an odd time to have 'surgery'. You'd prefer to be in the car as early as possible.

Winter will at least be fun. :D

Does anyone know, just out of sheer curiosity does anyone know if Dan Ricciardo was in the number 5 or 6 RB? As a sidenote, I can't wait to see the numbers 1 and 2 on the RB7. Btw, as a sidenote, I'm hearing reports that Vettel and Webber had a long heart to heart talk in private after Vettel won the championship, and they took the same flight back from Abu Dhabi, sitting next to each other. While I'm not a Webber fan, I never hated Webber. This is extremely good news and I am VERY happy that they might be able to work together well next year.

Not 100% sure, but I thought it was 6. (maybe 5 is going into hangar 7?) :D

That is good to hear that they have dropped the argy bargy for now, lets hope it continues thru 2011 no matter who is leading the WDC.

The Pirelli tests start in a couple of days and read in scarbsf1 blog that one of the changes for next season will be a mandatory 45f/55r weight distribution. How can this be setup in the current cars?
Early in the year Mercedes almost redid the entire suspension to move the weight distribution towards the rear. What will teams do to collect the relevant data from the pirelli tests.

I think they can do whatever they want with the cars in testing. Even special wings, ballast, different kind of a tank for the car.
