Renault Sport Racing and McLaren Racing are pleased to announce they have agreed an engine supply partnership for the 2018, 2019 and 2020 seasons. The deal will see Renault Sport Racing supply McLaren with Formula 1 power units, while also establishing a close working relationship with McLaren’s engineers and technicians.

Since the diffusor is now so much bigger could it be that teams will no longer look to build front part of chassis so high up and nose as well and we see more esteticly beautiful cars like pre 2009?

well they aren't allowed to build high noses anymore thanks to the restrictions on the nose dimensions and locations.
as for the wings, the reason we don't see such amazing shaped wings like back then - despite the detail of the wings are amazing - is that
the form of the centre part of the wing is mandated, and now mandated to be v-shaped.
we won't be seeing a 'flowing' wing like in the mclaren above due to the regulations.
the complicated wing shapes of the past few years will stay, as will rake and floor aerodynamics, bargeboards, and the rear wing end
plates will have interesting shapes paired to rear brake ducts and also front brake ducts.
i hope restrictions will be somewhat lifted in the coming years. if the new owners are able to find a believable and executable 'spending ceiling' then i think a lot of restrictions will be removed and we're going to see vastly more different designs and approaches. but that's still far away at this point.

Diffuser since 2011 was 125mm high and started from the rear wheel center line! For 2017 the diffuser is 175mm high and starts 175mm before the rear wheel center line! Also it becomes wider from 1000mm to 1050mm for 2017!! Red Bull proposed a 225mm high and 330mm long diffuser but it was rejected in favor of Mclaren's proposal! I would really love to see what would have happened to the lap times had they gone for Red Bull's proposal!!
