I assume, lots of marbles of the line, bump before the braking(less rear DF won't help). In other words, dangerous

That was the case for the cars before 2017 but now with so much downforce I don`t think it`s the case anymore ...
The ULTRASOFT that lasts 50 laps Isn't durable enough for you?FW17 wrote: ↑27 May 2018, 17:45FIA did not make any tyre rule
Pirelli needs to bring tyres that are durable enough to abuse of racing. Of the six tyres in there range none would stand up to close racing for more than 10% of the race
With fuel load the cars can only be 3 to 4 seconds off qualifying pace, rest is due to poor durability of tyres
You mean 72 in Lewis case ...PlatinumZealot wrote: ↑27 May 2018, 17:57The ULTRASOFT that lasts 50 laps Isn't durable enough for you? ...FW17 wrote: ↑27 May 2018, 17:45FIA did not make any tyre rule

Had it`s not enough downforce provided both from 2018 cars and tyres then allow a short DRS distance just to make enough speed difference in order to make a pass stick ...
Maybe it was durable for xy laps. But what performance that tyre had? 5 seconds off pace.PlatinumZealot wrote: ↑27 May 2018, 17:57The ULTRASOFT that lasts 50 laps Isn't durable enough for you?FW17 wrote: ↑27 May 2018, 17:45FIA did not make any tyre rule

First you people say the tyres are too soft, then they are too hard then you all say Pirelli tyre range is too wide. Make up your minds!
It's just too many high risk factors: the marbles on the outside with no runnoff a tunnel wall to crash into, the sea on the left, the downhill after the tunnel and no way to easily clear a big crash pile from the tunnel itself. Just too risky.atanatizante wrote: ↑27 May 2018, 18:01Had it`s not enough downforce provided both from 2018 cars and tyres then allow a short DRS distance just to make enough speed difference in order to make a pass stick ...
I thought they were 5 seconds off the pace due to RIC going as fast as he could and the train behind following. Ocon wiped off a 20+ second deficit to be on the leaders tails at the end.
While I am in the camp of “maybe this isn’t for Hartley”, I think he did fine today. Remember, he was hit from behind. Not much he can do there. In all the practices, i think he was actually faster than Gasly. I think he is generally out paced by Gasly, but today was not Hartley’s worst performance.Wynters wrote: On the topic of basics, is this it for Hartley? For some track excitement, pitting Ham could have been nice but it wouldn't be a logical decision for a leading title contenderWynters wrote: ↑27 May 2018, 18:05Another riveting Monaco GP.
Disappointed that Mercedes didn't pit Hamilton for his fresh (iirc) Hyper softs with 10 laps to go. Five laps would've seen him lining up Bottas and he'd have five more laps to see how many he could overtake with a 5+ second a lap advantage*.
Sadly, it's Monaco, 5 seconds a lap pace differential is not enough to overtake anyone*.
* - Unless you are Max, in which case you don't even need the pace advantage as you don't need to bother braking for chicanes if you don't want to.
As for Williams...if you can't even get the tyres on the cars before the start of the race don't even bother turning up. It genuinely pains me to see how far they have fallen. I know they can't compete on the money side but at least do the basics right.

His mistake today was speeding in the pitlane, sadly. Just no excuse for it, they even have a warning line and a button to press He's done is a few times in the last six months as well as his mess up on the formation lap at Bahrain...so many pointless errors merely compund his general poor performance.shingles wrote: ↑27 May 2018, 18:24While I am in the camp of “maybe this isn’t for Hartley”, I think he did fine today. Agreed I wonder what the delta between chmpionship rivals is for an overtake here? If Vettel was 5 seconds faster and couldn't even got close to Daniel...
