Williams FW36 Mercedes

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Seems like the sidepod shoulder vents are larger.

They are different, before they extended all the way to the shoulders of the pod and now they stop a little short of that.

Nasr's rear wing has a "v" cut on the top profile, Massa's doesn't.
The Monkey seat on Massa's car seems to be less angled(or outright smaller).

Massa's FW has more squared endplates and ever so slightly different flaps.

Are those gills on the shark fin?

Originally i thought this was just their "closed" bodywork (the one the car launched with) so i didn't pay any attention.

I can't see them here.

Could the gills (on the shark fin) be placed asymmetrical ?

I'm not sure, but since the photo i posted and tomazy posted are from the same angle it's most likely 2 different covers.

the shape is very different ...just look at the Transition of the shark fin to the sidepods ...the old one straight -now there is a considerable radius (and White Color)

When I look at the FW36 nose, it looks like its the most disruptive towards the airflow of all the "ant eater" noses. Its very fat, and the second step of the nose is not that high. I would expect a new nose, perhaps even at the Spanish GP.

Hard to tell of course, but I think the nose in it's current shape creates 2 vortexes that go round the edges of the T-tray.
Thank you really doesn't really describe enough what I feel. - Vettel
