Regarding the plank wear on the Red Bull:
i believe that they actually can run very low, but not because they cheat or use a trick on the plank mounting or chassis. I'd rather say that their aero platform is very stable and doesn't bounce. And thus they won't wear the plank while (not) bottoming out. In contrast the Mercs and Ferraris need to lift their cars or else they introduce bouncing and thus excessive plank wear. This will obviously compromise their aero efficiency and car setup and lead to a overall slower car.

So as long as the other teams can't figure out to have a stable aero platform - even if that sacrifices peak df - they won't be able to catch RB.

Only the SF23 of those examples has its full "cake tin" cover in place.

The RB & AMR both display the brake equipment cooling arrangement that would then be covered by further carbon enclosure to keep that flow descreet to brake temperature management only.

Obviously brake temperature management would affect the rim, but here I see the two as seperated within the wheel void.

Pretty sure the Ferrari picture is of the 2017 car. Livery is a give away, but so is the RW endplate. Definitely not this gen of car

From what I've seen I'd wager the MCL60 now has the tallest tunnels. Seems to be working for them; the concept is very different from RB & AMR.

Correct me if I'm wrong... RB usually run a flatter main chord RW with a tall flap? For DRS. Here it's reversed, and Ferrari have the flat main plane and tall flap. Or do I have that reversed? Granted it's Monza so very different wings all around.

As for FWs, are we noticing design convergence? -especially here at Monza. I can barely tell the difference between teams.

RB didn't make a Monza exclusive rear wing. The main plane is the same one used at Silverstone, spa, Saudi.

So they had to trim the drs flap. Worse for performance but saves budget cap not having to make a dedicated low df RW.
