Yea, it’s not like Lando was best of the rest in Silverstone and got done over by a poor strategy decision.Ben1980 wrote: ↑09 Jul 2022, 18:55Hey?NiyolHuayra wrote: ↑09 Jul 2022, 18:40So sad to see McLaren go backwards yet again... I hope you feel better soon, I had it 4 weeks ago and I’m only now mostly recovered.Darth-Piekus wrote: ↑09 Jul 2022, 16:25Personally I'm not gonna watch the Sprint as I'm ill with Covid and tired to watch at the moment.
That was dumb, they should have given Daniel a chance to get Bottas and then swapped around if he couldn’t get by. Daniel was clearly faster than Lando and glued to his gearbox fit the whole race.
Did you even watch the sprint race? Daniel was glued to Lando’s gearbox for the entire race and clearly had a bit more pace.NiyolHuayra wrote: ↑09 Jul 2022, 18:40So sad to see McLaren go backwards yet again... Yea I watched, we'll see today. I doubt that he'll able to keep up with Lando. As much as I want McLaren to win, i can't see past the obvious. We're going nowhere, look what Merc has been able to do with their car, look at Alpine...djos wrote: ↑10 Jul 2022, 02:52Did you even watch the sprint race? Alpine are the real challenger. That's the teams fight. But, for all the Alpine have done, last weekend we were comfortable against them.CjC wrote: ↑09 Jul 2022, 21:52Yea, it’s not like Lando was best of the rest in Silverstone and got done over by a poor strategy decision.Ben1980 wrote: ↑09 Jul 2022, 18:55Hey?NiyolHuayra wrote: ↑09 Jul 2022, 18:40So sad to see McLaren go backwards yet again... Alpine are strong though- they have swapped with Mclaren this season. If Mclaren can get good value for money with the 3.1% budget increase I’d say P5 is safe.
I’m not ecstatic with my comment but it’s reality
Not sure he was clearly faster. He was maybe faster, but he did have lots of DRS. So it was hard to judge.
It was similar situation to HAAS where Mick felt he was faster and should have been allowed past Kmag. Steiner said they think he was only thinking he was faster due to 3 big DRS zones.
Norris couldn’t hold on to Bottas with drs, so yes he was slower.
Norris was close in the last few laps,
Maybe they could of, especially as they said Norris tyres were going after his Albon battles.Seerix wrote: ↑10 Jul 2022, 09:41It was similar situation to HAAS where Mick felt he was faster and should have been allowed past Kmag. It could have been the same for RIC, but it would not hurt them to try and let him have a go as Mcl was not under any pressure. Ric even said several times he has more pace and team only replied 'copy, we'll get back to you' but they did not. Bit strange.
Norris spent most of the race over 3 seconds behind Bottas, Daniel spent most of the race 1/2 second behind Norris. Norris only caught Bottas at the end of the race.
Lando said himself that he burned up his tyres somewhat early in the race fighting Albon so struggled a bit afterwards. Daniel did indeed have the pace to keep up with Lando and perhaps could have got closer to Bottas but would have struggled to pass with the mini DRS train.
