I'm a little rusty with these red flag rules... What's going to happen at the start?

IMO highlights the silly decision of starting the race at 16:00. It's usual to rain in the late afternoon here.

Poor choice to put the safety car out in my view. That's led to the red flag by bunching the cars up, which is bad for visibility, by stopping the cars from generating heat in their tyres due to running so slowly, and by stopping the cars from clearing some of the standing water. They'll struggle to get the race restarted as well as there's nothing to clear the standing water.

Okay some cars were running wide but at this circuit in particular that's not an unsafe thing. They should do far more to keep the cars racing.

what a SHAME! it is not raining.

Alonso pitted with Button

I think SC restart and teams can change settings like they want to on the car...

Spare a thought for Kimi Raikkonen here... I think he lost his ice cream in the fridge explosion.

as a malaysian i don't really like Sepang starts during March-April-May... but i love if it will be as back to back with Singapore... during August where the possibility that the race begins in dry is high due to dry season on august.

oh dear, the race direction destroyed the race, again.

Even Vergne can drive on inters, and I haven't realy seen anyone who did a better lap after switching to full wets.
Thank you really doesn't really describe enough what I feel. - Vettel

How about the positions? There was one HRT I think that didn't change tires.. Will it be starting from the midfield? That's gonna add some accidents for sure.

Are they allowed to change tires if the race is stopped with red flag?

It had to be stopped. No way could they continue in this storm! Plus lightning was hitting stands and power cut briefly.

Yes. Red flags mean you can even change some aspects of setup, do repairs, change tyres. Karthikeyan will start 10th
