Red Bull RB13 TAG Heuer

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

The turbocharger is still in the back. You can tell by how small the intake plenum is, and where the compressor pipe comes from.

don't know if it's the right way to respond to this topic but Verstappen admitted on Dutch tv Redbull were struggling to pass the crash tests therefore they are so much behind.
I wonder if that has anything to do with the nose

The open nose on the RB13 certainly created a stir when Red Bull unveiled its latest F1 challenger. It was supposed that the air entering the hole was vented out right behind the thumb tip and not channelled towards the β€˜S’-duct system, nor inside the cockpit.

This is now confirmed thanks to the image above, though previous pictures had already been floating around. By reducing the frontal surface that blocks the airflow, the aperture optimises the air flowing above the neutral centre section of the front wing and towards the bigger barge-boards.

Are those two NACA ducts just behind the nose feeding the air towards that lower slot at the end of the nose? Pardon me, there are actually another two alongside the nose, on the yellow RB circle...

And they call it a stall. A STALL!

The lower slot is a locating device for when the nose is mounted to the tub. Look at the front of the tub in pictures earlier in the thread to see the piece it joins.

Those four NACA ducts probably join back into a pair.

Exactly what I was thinking HOWEVER, remember that the RB13 has three (3) separate outlets at the top of the chassis/nosecone..
