@AR3-GP thinks it should be penalties, but I just read the article to see.maygun wrote: ↑12 Apr 2025, 20:54you can jump to the queue with unsafe releases also, i recall they always give fines for that?AR3-GP wrote: ↑12 Apr 2025, 20:48Being first in the queue is a competitive advantage.CjC wrote: ↑12 Apr 2025, 20:36Merc are under investigation:

Nico Hulkenberg was heard to remark that he thought it was "dodgy", as his race engineer Steven Petrik told him to remain in the garage.
Oh that’s not bad. Still P3 for Russell and P5 for Kimi (who still starts ahead of Norris) And I should celebrate because Gasly is P4.CjC wrote: ↑12 Apr 2025, 21:23Actually it’s a 1 place grip drop penalty

Well, dang if that true. Apologies about my last comment.AR3-GP wrote: ↑12 Apr 2025, 21:27They also note that future punishments could be more severe. Mercedes got off generously imo. It's really a DSQ matter. The pitlane order is decided by the WCC of the previous season. Entering the lane before the official time is a competitive advantage in a qualifying situation, especially with only a few minutes to go.
GR needs to dispatch CL asap. Idk if Merc has enough of a performance offset to overtake Charles. Seems that in race trim they’re too similar..SB15 wrote: ↑12 Apr 2025, 21:30Oh that’s not bad. Calling it a DSQ matter is dramatic by some margin.AR3-GP wrote: ↑12 Apr 2025, 21:27They also note that future punishments could be more severe. Mercedes got off generously imo. Not to mention there was 11 mins to go was there not? Hardly a few mins.
FP2 was a bit warmer than the actual race, so I predict Merc's pace will be better than we saw in that FP2. In Bahrain you don't need that much offset to overtake as DRS zones are long enough, tomorrow the most important thing would be nailing the strategy, there would be 2/3 stops and a chance of safety car.OverheatedTurbo wrote: ↑12 Apr 2025, 21:36GR needs to dispatch CL asap. Charles is now on the dirty side of the grid. If GR can get a good start, there's every chance he's around the outside and squeezing Charles out for T2 and T3.OverheatedTurbo wrote: ↑12 Apr 2025, 21:36GR needs to dispatch CL asap. Mercedes sent their cars out prematurely in order to gain a track position advantage. At any event, there could be rain on the way. Ideal track conditions may be disappearing. It doesn't matter how much time was remaining or if Dr. Seuss was standing in. You can't send cars out whenever you feel like. Several cars should have been DSQ'd for the false formation lap in Brazil last year as well. They have to set a precedent. If not now, the teams will take advantage.Quantum wrote: ↑13 Apr 2025, 08:53AR3-GP wrote: ↑12 Apr 2025, 21:27They also note that future punishments could be more severe. A DSQ?
For what? An infraction that is procedural and not technical?
With the last placed garage getting a year round "competitive advantage" that yields nothing but warrants a DSQ of both mercs should 11 mins be left and mercedes standby team coordinator misdirects the teams drivers to the grid?
What's funny is that everyone had time for 2 more runs after the pitlane was reopened.
Therefore it was procedural infraction as any sporting advantage would've been neutralised because there was an abundance of time left.
Butterfly effect nonsense can be utilised for all penalties or none.
Imagine DSQing a driver for impeding by crystal balling it with the new butterfly effect metric hahaha
We don't wheel these out for anything else but here.... butterfly effect bro!
If anything they're UNLUCKY they got a grid drop for both cars where a fine would suffice.
