FIA WEC rookie testing
Juan Pablo Montoya tested the Porsche 919 Hybrid, setting a 1m43.174s lap in his first outing in the car and finished the day with a 1m40.861s. testing the #17 Porsche along with Montoya was Mitch Evans who set a time of 1m42.946s

“First impression is that the car is amazing,” said Montoya. “It’s a helluva toy – that’s the best way to describe it.

"I understood in the simulator everything that I had to do with the hybrid system, and it’s OK. I was shocking when they gave me a 30-page manual on how to drive the car!

Also at the test was Aston Martin GTE Pro driver Richie Stanaway who tested the #8 Audi 1m42.134s
and newly crowned LMP2 champion Sam Bird who had a go in the #1 Toyota TS040 Hybrid setting a time of 1m45.318s.

I assume they are looking for a stand-in for Hulkenberg at Le Man, but afaiu Montoya isn't available for Le Man

The car will be more refined come the first lap of the season. This is how the car looked a month ago.

Hopefully they will be able to match the Porsche in acceleration as they had better vmax than the Porsche.
