Mercedes AMG F1 W07

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Why is everyone so sure it's a more "draggy" config?

Picture from the race of Lewis's damaged car.
Is the tubing part of the crash structure?

Yes, you can see the same tube (covered) at the top of the picture.

Interesting. I assume the running they did previously with the sawtooth edges has proved to be worthwhile producing a full wing as previously the sawtooth was made from what looked like plastic that was stuck on

Sorry SiLo i forgot to reply: i think the more drag comes on one hand from the surface of the new bardgeboard (9 curved blades), on the other from the linking point between the actual floor and the 9 blades themselves (http://www.motorsport-magazin.com/forme ... 43850.html)

Giorgio reporting longer blades

Looking at the P of P ZERO PIRELLI, that detail is an inwash flap/double flap?

Posts about whether or not Hamilton gets to keep his speculative pole are removed. Discussion about the damaged gearbox has to about the damaged parts, not the sportive/competitive consequences.
