If true, it's becoming pathetic...how long until they realize they're not up to the challenge?

Another pathetic start of the season #-o #-o
Sadly, it is true.. Its now on more sources that "Stoffel told the team that he lost power" and now they're fitting a new engine..

I cannot believe that Honda isn't up for the challenge, I'm sure they can do it. But maybe some people are just on the wrong place there..

Sure, everyone welcome to their opinions of course.

I've already posted this elsewhere but I think the shark fin gives a cartoon-esque impression of speed (in line with the new wings):

Also think it's rich for Horner to bang on about aesthetics with a great big hole in his car's nose (as scarabs pointed out).

Luckily McLaren isn't the only one having problems:

Sauber is still to emerge after the 2 installation laps
Renault hasn't emerged yet today
And the Williams only made it 12 times arround the track..

I can't help but think back to Ron Dennis in 2014.
“It is mindblowing, the engine is a piece of jewellery. They are further ahead than expected. The competiveness of the engine is without question.”

Note that Sauber are currently changing their power unit as well.
Sauber is running a 2016 PU nobody cares about anymore. And are you seriously comparing Sauber with Mclaren?

a 2016 Ferrari PU no one cares about. (prob. not even Ferrari  )
Finishing races is important, but racing is more important.

Based on the information he had at that time that might have been correct

True but it does point to out of touch at least Honda were/are.

Clearly the info they gave McClaren was duff and 2 active years later they are still no nearer to getting it right.

True but even if we give Ferrari 1.5 seconds for the delta from Med to SS that still 0.5 seconds faster.

If they think the tyres are too durable then presumably they can start bringing a step compound softer after the first few (already defined) races.

Hamilton lost a lot in final sector on ss, implying they don't last long at Barcelona.
