Fred was spectacular. He’s lost none of his talent despite his age...unlike other 30+ year old guys on the grid. I hope he kills it tomorrow again. Incredible off the line starter and always has been. What a talent to watch!!

Since F1 is looking for a new format how about introducing some more cost cutting! No telemetry, no practice session, just turn up and drive/race.
Two engines in a season and if you break them then you dont get to race until next season.
This new format is rubbish.
If the qualifying session is to be worth anything why not give points for that as well. Same as race points for qualifying, 2x points for Sprint and 3x for the main race?!

Russell given three place grid penalty
After what happened in Austria no way he escapes barging wide like that... fair in my opinion.

Drivers should start developing their outside pass skills since the inside driver in the middle of the corner can’t chop the outside driver off anymore at exit.

With all the Hoopla about Fred's first lap (and Kimi's should be lauded as well)...one could say that the sprint format is rewarding of good "racers" such as they. Whereas good "drivers", ala Bot, Checo, Rus, et al, did not seem to improve their grid position to the extent that the wheelmen did.

Well, that was actually good and a very enjoyable qually format over 2 days.

I thought the idea sucked but I’ve changed my mind.

Undoubtedly, the weekend deserved value for money and the new format is clearly a step in the right direction. Moreso for spectators on the venue as they can watch high intensity show for 3 days, rather than just 2. Friday has been pretty much useless for TV and in the Venue audience. For those who don't like the new format, can simply enjoy the friday and make better use of Saturday by switching off and turn up on Sunday. That way it serves multiple sets of audience.

I agree, though regarding cost cutting I think indeed making the weekend a day shorter would also work. It also gives a bit more unpredictability

I too agree on this make a Two day weekend with normal Qualy and sprint race on Saturday and Race day on Sunday, but addition to that there should be in season testing allowed on few days after race weekend like on Monday and Tuesday on some intervals in season. This could make racing fun.

Bottas clearly lifted off to not overtake Hamilton at the start. He's trying hard to get the next contract.

If that’s truly the case then I don’t understand why they put him on red’s

Sounds plausible but why not doing that for Lewis than? As the big points are awarded on race day?

I don’t know the tire allocation in general. Does Max and Lewis both have 1 sets of new mediums left now?

2 sets, so not an issue at all. Teams like AT and AM may struggle a bit if it really turns out to be a two-stop race, though
