A radio message "Lewis, this is James, we need you to hold position" would've been most amusing. Instead it was a typical passive aggressive Hamilton radio message ("I can't compete under these conditions" IIRC) and some Hamilton fans are confused why some folks don't like Hamilton.

At least Max is up front about "the car is f*(&(*ked", typical no-nonsense Max and if people dislike Max for that then fair enough!

Could Verstappen's issue be hydraulics? He said he smelt something unusual. Hydraulic fluid smells acrid when burning or overheated

Not sure what flavour acrid is
In my experience it smells uniquely oily. Hydraulic oil has a distinctive Polysulfide di-tert-dodecyl smell

Helmut Marko just told that they started leaking a big amount of fuel all of a sudden. But it does not look like the same issue as in Bahrain.

Makes sense why he said that during the race. The team asked him to back off due to engine issue.. or it was a way to indirectly implement team orders

Just a general note, I get the sense that some people are tired of talking about the whereabouts of a certain 7x WC, but many of them comment like their lives depend on whether that said 7x WC will be beaten by his teammate or not.

LH was unlucky with the SC, all else equal, he would be on the podium. This is F1, sure, but you can't possibly expect him to accept the result instantly, although he was happy about the team result after the race. That's it.

What's wrong with people supporting Russell? He is a plucky fellow and very determined. P2 in the WDC is a great effort, and for a team with equal number ones, Russell is planting his flag early as potentially being the top Mercedes driver in the WDC.

Russell at Williams fans can also be cheering equally for Albon at Williams too! Dragging that Williams to 10th place is a great drive.

Yes, but he should take solace in that the car is raceable. Seems track specific because the track isn't very fast. But he did have very good pace. Just bad luck with safety cars.
Leclerc destroying everyone again. Max was lucky and unlucky. The SC always seem to help him out. Leclerc was really blowing him away, but the SC kept it interesting. Does he have an answer for Leclerc who seems almost invincible?
Perez confidence is building, but he is simply not on the same level as Leclerc. He races really well though, but I do not think the team is ready to hand over lead driver to him just yet. Max needs at least 4 more dnf before Perez become #1.
Alonso disappointing for some reason. Stroll and Latifi need to find another job. Vettel doesn't look like his should be in formula1 any more. I cannot even recommend another team for him, because he just wont be an improvement for them.

Strange characteristics of these new cars and tyres. You can follow closer but because everyone can push in the tyres deep into the stint the gaps stabilized.

The engines which should be more reliable in isolation, are actually less reliable in these chassis too. I reckon pipes and connections are vibrating loose, and radiators are getting dirty quicker with the close following.

I think this was particularly the case here because of low tyre deg in general. Won't be the case in many tracks I reckon.
