Lando only using one set of tires to move out of Q1… That’s something we’ve not seeing often from McLaren … Dani playing awfully close to missing Q2, but luckily he is through.

Yeah 5th and 9th decent starting spots for the team. Hopefully good haul of points tomorrow.

To split the Mercedes (after they were pulling away in terms of pace) and been half a second faster than Alonso in the Alpine bodes well for the new package, which I’m sure everyone (from the drivers to the team) is still adapting and learning… It is also important for that to happen in a track where drag carries a very large penalty with a couple of very long straights… Hopefully the bits coming for Hungary helps build a bit more pace in the car

Lando, well done… really would love to see him in a front running car. Hope McLaren can give him that soon.
