Williams FW35 Renault

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Is that not the 2013 car with the 2012 stepped nose and front wing? It has the new quad strakes on the side pods and the new rear wing
I doubt it. The exhaust is completely different.
Assuming the exhaust pic is of that car with the stepped nose

It's really the 2012 car :p. The pictures come from the same batch; they are from the same car, the 2012 one. The 2013 car stands in the box.

The real question is why did they brought it along? 99% of me says promotional work, but 1% hopes they ditch the 2013 car and race the 2012 one, just because they can :P.

Well, if the pic are from the same car, than this is not the 2012 car, becouse rear suspention has the pull rod going throu lower wishbone, and not in front of it as it did last year. The gearbox cower is from this year too, and the strakes on top of the sidepods and the rear wing. The front wing, nose, vains under the nose and the brake ducts (no wheel nut blowing?) are from last year.

Great pics as allways stefan =D>

If we forger the FW34.5 car, there is a lot of updates on FW35. Modified FW, cooling holes on top of the sidepods, and an interesting new bump on the engine cower, just bellow the R of Reanult.

Yes you are right, I made too fast the assumption it was the 2012 car due it the multiple differences. Looks like a bit of mashup.

Is there really a bump there or is it an optical illusion? I'm having a hard time figuring out...

On the previous page we can see the car with the bodywork Maldonado used in Barcelona.

Very interesting detail of the top winglet endplate with doubke slot - also the flap has a huge number of supposrts in the slot(5-7?) that probably merge into vortex genretors on the underside of the wing

Is that a reflection or have they added some Chines to the top of the Nose?

Now in FP2 Maldonado has the new nose (with cameras on the nose, which is new) and last years FW.

Bottas more or less has the Barcelona bodywork.
