Scuderia Ferrari SF16-H

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Basically, if there was a way to keep air from flowing over the sidepods, wouldn't it increase the lift, since the pressure would be lower? :P

What part of this...
The idea is to minimize air flow over the sidepod, where it would generate lift, and instead direct it around the sidepod, which is a route to the back of the car that doesn't generate lift.
...even so much as hints that air flow over the sidepod is, or can/should be, stopped?

Does this look right?

All that stuff about the airflow conditioners being there to clean airflow / energize airflow to keep the sidepods from stalling / redirecting airflow for downforce related purposes is probably right. It's not that your explanation didn't make sense, but to me there doesn't seem to be an efficient way to prevent airflow over the sidepods from generating lift, due to their shapes.

But I can never say anything for sure, my work as an aerodynamicist is limited to studying the effects of airflow over my hand outside the car window.

It look's like the way from charger to inter cooler and back to plenum is really short. But I can not figure the exact layout :x

For me it look's like the inter cooler is feed in the middle and then divide the air to each side. And it goes from the side to the plenum. I'm not 100% sure but it look's so. If so the intake, cooler and exhaust paths are really short. May be even shorter than it the Mercedes split turbo design.

The last picture, is the duct/hole/slot in front of the tire new?

On the exhaust, is that some kind of protection cover for transporting or they trying to hide something?

So, no blown axle and no s duct. ? Pictures are conflicting. Bottom ones seem to show open wheel nuts, top ones seem to be closed.

They have covers over the openings: a metal one during assembly of the brakes, and plastic when they're done

All teams do it to stop things getting in or left behind

Nothing's there at the moment.
http://www.auto-motor-und-sport.de/bild ... ow_item=73 From 74th to 77th. (79th for the exhaust cover)
I can't find anything in that area from testing pictures either.
