I know what you're aiming at. and McLAren didn't show it at the launch. They ran it first time in the last pre-season test, until Spain I believe.beelsebob wrote:Hmm? And as for the floor, it isnt illegal, McLaren ran a similar floor in 2009.

McLaren have introduced something completely new for 2009 - a floor with a cut-out section in front of the rear tyres. Its aim appears to be to increase the effectiveness of the rear diffuser by effectively turning the whole rear bodywork area into one large diffuser, with the 'throat' of the venturi starting just ahead of the back wheels. The delta-shaped leading edge of the cut-out creates low pressure, encouraging the diffuser to pull in more air at a faster rate. This solution is possible because with no more flick-ups (banned for 2009) on the upper bodywork, it's no longer essential to retain the uniformity of the lower floor area. It remains to be seen whether this is a pro-active measure from McLaren, or a reaction to a general lack of downforce.
I've seen a pic of it at Singapore with the cutouts from memory...wesley123 wrote:I know what you're aiming at. and McLAren didn't show it at the launch. They were removed with the introduction of the B-specjordangp wrote: I've seen a pic of it at Singapore with the cutouts from memory...
To be fair I don't think anyone in this thread was stealing anything. Crucial_Xtreme apparently was taking the pic from Julian Petkov; who in turn; if true; would have been the one who stole it.jordangp wrote:May I ask that you ask permission to use my images before you steal them and claim them as your own? 150mm either side of the car centre line isn't allowed to have any cut away or hole, between 450mm forward of the rear of the cockpit entry template and 350mm behind the rear wheel centre line you may have cut aways in the next 300mm either side of the central section. Finally, between 450mm forward of the rear of the cockpit entry template, and 450 *forward* of the rear wheel centre line, you may have cut aways in the next 200mm beyond the 300, and the 150.wesley123 wrote:If I'm correct the rule you mean only exists on the central 90cm section of the floor.
I didn't know it was JordanGP's. I wrote in my original post who was the source. Or so I was told.raymondu999 wrote:To be fair I don't think anyone in this thread was stealing anything. Crucial; do you have a link or anything where you took the pic from?
