The RB8 exhaust flow is redirected by a mechanical device that moves related to speed*, if you want to be pedantic about it. So it will be interesting to see what turns up on track tomorrow.

Anyone at Jerez care to see which garage burns the midnight oil longest? :D

How much Red Bull is there at Red Bull? :?

*the upper wishbone sits right in it
i know that, but FIA changes their regulations without defining it strictly. last change was two days ago abut exhaust and front wings .

I suppose that teams will take it as far as they can before being protested or contacted by Charlie Whiting. I don't see why they wouldn't.

And lol at the disappearing front pull rod.

Of course, thats what F1 technology is about isn't it? The designers make the cars go faster, the FIA slow them down (usually in the interests of safety) again with regulations, then the designers come up with new and inventive ways to circumvent these rules.

Its an epic, and never ending power struggle. lol

That is an interesting little pipe going into the crash structure. An exit for hot gases or a conduit for hydraulics for the DRS?

Thanks, thats very clear. If you take a look at the launch photo's that metal hole was filled with a suspension arm, right in the middle between the arms. Can this mean they have different holes in the chassis to try out different suspension lay-outs?
I doesn't seem like it was ever filled in.

This pic isn't as clear but you can still see the gap between the pull rod and red body work. IMO.

What about these pictures. It looks like it's a different place from the pullrod on the track.

I know the angle can play tricks but if you compare it with this picture it just seems a bit strange..

Ferrari were testing different suspension anchors today. Hence the reason for the confusion. right click>view image

Between this and the "transparent" engine cover, I'm thinking a course in perspectives might be in order. #-o

the side pod radiator exhaust can't influence the engine exhaust, it's simply to slow and low quality energy.

I don't see the illegality in any of the designs. Suspension arms aren't body work no?

10.3.4 Non‐structural parts of suspension members are considered bodywork.

Does that make any heat shielding bodywork?

I wonder how much flex these flaps have and if this could be a loophole to the flexwing rules?

Aren't those a mandated spec part? Those are the camera pods.

However, one pic from pit. Just highlighted probably cooling inlet. Maybe for KERS.

just thinking something about the front pull rod. I suspect we will see this fron pullrod again next year. if you look at the ridge after the ramp in the nose its completely clear. next year when the tub height gets pushed down to the same as the nose heightit should actually be even easier to implement front pullrod. i dont know if it will be viable or still possible to fit all the internals in but as far as where the suspension arms and pull rods connect to the tub it looks like they could use pull rod again next year.

long story short maybe they did it thinking that this was going to be their design path for the next few years.
