By the way things look, I think we will not see Mercedes in F1 next year, and if we will see them and they'll continue like this it would be the last year. They are simply going from bad to worse.
WHY should he go home? The TEAM has let him down, not the other way round.

Probably still won't be any penalty for Vettel.

So true. All he has to do is leave that crap Mercedes and go to Lotus or Ferrari :)

Good race by the Boss. I was nervous as hell that the tyres wouldn't last! Damn those Lotus's are fast over a stint! Probably not the quickest over a lap but definitely the best over a race.

Amazing how RedBull messed with strategy so much. Another race in favor for Alonso in the big picture.
He seems to tackle this season like a grand tour.

I now do believe that Maldonado is trying to barge other cars out of the way on purpose. It looks like he tried the very same thing he did here on Lewis at Valencia, which ended in tears.

I have absolutely no doubt that he is doing it on purpose. Monaco was blatant, Valencia was pretty clear cut to me, Silverstone could go either way, Hungary was clear cut too. The guy should be getting a ban, not a drive through.

Spa is next, and I think Raikkonen is overdue a win, since you can pass there I expect good things from Lotus.

I think Whiting simply pressed a wrong button then waived a hand signal to repeat the formation lap but Michael's fast reaction played a bad joke on him.

Sorry, my mistake.

Vettel S2 time:

L69 30.6
L68 30.5
L67 30.7
L66 30.9
L65 30.8
L64 31.1
L63 31.6
L62 30.7
L61 30.8

Alonso has 23 points scoring finishes in a row. Schumacher had 24.

stefan_ wrote:Great race for Lotus, fantastic 2-3 (again!) - if they haven't got the best/fastest car, they surely have the most consistant one. Kimi was flying at the end of the 2nd soft stint and on the mediums. He deserved the victory, but he just didin't had that extra thing (maybe it was KERS to blame too). Grosjean again proved he can do good races if he doesn't lose it in the first laps.

With all the respect I have for Schumacher (I grew up with him, watched him take 5 of his 7 world titles and made me watch F1 basically), but he should go home, I am afraid that the decision to rejoin F1 was a big mistake.

Now I have to figure out what I will do with my life for the next 5 weeks.
Kimi will win at Spa.
I'm not convinced about "more consistent". It's consistently good at hot circuits, but it's not consistent across all tracks by a long shot. Track temps at spa are generally closer to 20-30°C, so we're really looking at McLaren vs Ferrari, and Lotus struggling hard.
