if it really is at 50%(of something) Mercedes will get an ass whoooping soon....from Alonso not Button
It's almost as though you were watching a different qualifying session to the rest of us.
Instead of being 5 seconds adrift they'll be 2.5 seconds adrift, is that how it works? Oh, then there's 6 tenths for Alonso which takes it to 1.9 seconds adrift.
These plucking of figures out of thin air and clutching at straws are probably not in the right thread.
whhenever Alonso drove really problematic cars ('12,'14) that gap(to teammate) was more like 1.5.......ish
Thats actually quite funny. To be honest i dont expect to see Alonso any time soon. That cars performance in qualyfying must be playing havoc with his concussion.
On a serious note if the Mannor F1 team had been running there is the very real possibility they may have beaten Mclaren. They were doing 1:34s in a dampis qualyfying session last year. Its as bad as it gets. Its safe to say the car isnt running at 50% power output or I doubt it would be hitting 300 clicks on the mainstraight.
Alonso can't magically get 2 second out of a car thats fundamentally flawed and ridiculous. When the car is this handicapped you could put Max Chilton in and be hard pused to notice any major performance difference.
