So Raikkonen beat Hamiltons time on Soft, while Hamilton was on Super soft.
Edit: Didn't notice Morteza already posted this. Sorry.
With greater durability, soft is the new medium this season.GrizzleBoy wrote:It could also be that they've already decided what the winning tyre is like they did in 2016 when they spent all testing on the mediums.supermarine wrote:It's interesting that the Merc seems to like a softer tyre than the competition. Last year they were all about the medium tyre and now they seem to like the soft. The only thread of hope for the other teams that I can see in the current Merc domination of testing is that they may struggle to switch on harder compounds at some circuits.
It's far too early to tell anyway.
I love how the motorsport websites comment like it's an extended quality session with a hint of testing thrown in.Morteza wrote:https://twitter.com/autosportlive/statu ... 2155627520
Car tweaks behind closed shutters. I'm guessing they'll be back out fairly soon.F1NAC wrote:what happened to RB? No running after lunch?
Vote against something that doesn´t work so well in your car is like a tradition in F1. Ask Ferrari.Just_a_fan wrote:Don't forget that RedBull didn't want the shark fin in the first place. Its a Little bit early to judge Bottas times. Perhaps he will make so fast laps later, depending of what short of program he has.marlosb wrote:Does anyone know if Bottas and Hamilton are running on same car? I mean, one could be running with shark fin while the other without.
The 2.4 seconds gap between them seems too much for only different tires.
About Mercedes testing supersoft a lot, as new tires last more laps they are probably heading to use it much more than others during season, so, they may want to test it more now. Just wondering....
Yeah, you are right. They can also running on different setup, fuel levels and others specs.Vasconia wrote:Its a Little bit early to judge Bottas times.
