So Raikkonen beat Hamiltons time on Soft, while Hamilton was on Super soft.

Edit: Didn't notice Morteza already posted this. Sorry.

The only thread of hope for the other teams that I can see in the current Merc domination of testing is that they may struggle to switch on harder compounds at some circuits.
It could also be that they've already decided what the winning tyre is like they did in 2016 when they spent all testing on the mediums.

It's far too early to tell anyway.
With greater durability, soft is the new medium this season.

I love how the motorsport websites comment like it's an extended quality session with a hint of testing thrown in.

Car tweaks behind closed shutters. I'm guessing they'll be back out fairly soon.

Does anyone know if Bottas and Hamilton are running on same car? I mean, one could be running with shark fin while the other without it. The 2.4 seconds gap between them seems too much for only different tires.

About Mercedes testing supersoft a lot, as new tires last more laps they are probably heading to use it much more than others during season, so, they may want to test it more now. Just wondering....

Don't forget that RedBull didn't want the shark fin in the first place. I think they think it's more helpful to other teams than to them. Typical Horner, really.
Vote against something that doesn´t work so well in your car is like a tradition in F1. Ask Ferrari.

Its a Little bit early to judge Bottas times. Perhaps he will make so fast laps later, depending of what short of program he has.

So bottas is starting his race sim in the 25s, which is quicker than last years fastest lap. It'll be telling to see if those times go down much as the fuel burns off or is it like last year when they stick to a delta.

Trying to remember how long McLaren took to swap the PU in Alonso's car yesterday... I hope Vandoorne gets more time on track this afternoon.

*edit* Red Bull back on track now. Will be interesting to see what the changes were.

Yeah, you are right. They can also running on different setup, fuel levels and others specs.
I was just wondering if they are not testing different aero packages.

Mercedes doing a full race sim on the second day of testing. That's probably more scary than any of the times we'll see laid down today.
