Carlos Sainz's McLaren is the sole car circulating the track at the moment.
And the Spaniard makes the most of the clear track to set his best time of the morning so far, with a 1:21.230.
It keeps the MCL34 in fourth place in the timesheet and he's now up to the 30-lap mark for the day.

Looking at the F1 test timing screen, top speed in all 3 sectors was set by Sainz. I know its testing and all, but its a big contrast to being always at the bottom.

Mclaren has 2 new drivers (one is rookie) and we all know the experience that Alonso brings but him taking a day from Carlos or Lando is not a good idea at the moment. Maybe during the in season tests he will have a go

Alonso was in F1 for 1 thing, to win.
I have no doubt this car will be better then last year but it will not win.
I know odds for it were always small, but whit Mclaren you always hope.
