This is a really popular victory. Perez did a fantastic job. Max will have to lick his wounds.

Charles not a happy on the radio.

Don't completely blame him though he never quite seemed to have the race pace after the first stint. Max caught him by a fair margin, even after the restart he lost out in the pits he wasn't all over Max for al the advantage he had during quali. Doubt he would have overtaken but didn't really seem to pressure Max like Sainiz did Max
Race pace is completely unimportant. Monaco is all about qualifying and strategy. Leclerc deserved the win, if not for the horrific strategical call by his strategy team. Simple as that.

So not even an investigation for stepping on the pix exit line ? He either stepped, or didn't.

If he did, how much more corrupt can they get ?
Have you seen any other angle than onboard?
Yes, I've seen once from the exit of St. Dévote. It looked like he either stepped by a few cms, or didn't. But it wasn't a very clear angle. Hence why I said if.

And honestly, I'm just giving the stewards the benefit of the doubt, cause from the onboard it looked like he clearly did.
Onboard is oftset from center. The camera from other side will tell what happened. If he did it then he deserves 5sec and he will finish 4th.

Do you need to actually cross the line ? From what I know, stepping on it is suffice.

What other angle do you need to see? It wasn’t a few cm, it was much more than that…
For Perez there was a heli shot, but I don't think he crossed the line.
For Verstappen there was a trackside shot, and it looks like he did.

I allways thought crossing it was penalized.

Why? Outcome is fine for Max. He outscored his rival and team got more points overall.

All he needed was track position and he didn't lose it on track.

As Alonso showed and even Checo, you can pretty much drive as fast as you want round this track and as long as you have some tyre tread left, nobody will overtake you.

Strategy and some incompetence and late pit/don't pit calls are what cost him, and he should definitely be pissed about that.

Correct, the whole width of his wheel must cross the line to incur a penalty.
Always find the gap then use it.

It's crazy but Sergio is only 6 points behind Charles in P2!

If he is consistent enough, he can hang right in there behind the top two and all it will take is one mistake from either of them and he is there to pounce.

Based on what? Crashing during qualifying preventing Verstappen from starting before him? Getting the better strategy during the race and then finishing barely 2 seconds before Verstappen on a track where overtaking is almost impossible? I guess Sainz is a title contender now too? Don't be silly, Leclerc and Verstappen are way faster over a full GP distance than Sainz and Perez.
