Red Bull RB20

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

There we go then!

Questions is, do both openings lead to the radiators or is the vertical one an S duct like Ferrari?
I think the vertical inlet is so narrow that it's almost certainly an s-duct type thing to trim off the boundary layer

Aston and RedBull have landed on very similar edge wing solutions for now :-k

I don't remember seeing that dip on the top surface in any launch photos.

Look at the Venturation post right above you, the pod dips considerably and continues parallel, then dips again into a narrow gulley

Red Bull may start testing new parts in the coming hours. There are preparations at the back of the garage, some parts have arrived but I couldn't see exactly what came, if I get details I will share them.

The air behind the cockpit and around Halo is quite bad, it's almost as bad for radiator cooling as the front tyre wake. I don't think those openings above cockpit are used for radiator cooling, but rather for some internal flow conditioning, most likely complementary along with (internal?) S duct outlet. In theory, you can get away with smaller radiator inlets if you manage to increase the pressure difference between inlets and outlets and internal flow management is crucial for that. Introducing a bit more cool air also helps
And they call it a stall. A STALL!

I see that as well. Clearly inlets behind the driver's head.

Generaly speaking they put as much cooling as possible in the centerline to reduce size/have sculpture option for the siepod.

High pressure in front of this inlet could help reduce cockpit losses?

Are these cooling anything or are they just channeled inside the fat tunnels all the way to the rear?

Some cool ideas in this car, Red Bull didn't sit still.
