Thank you LDVH for the quick reply. I will revert to an older Paraview version and check again. I used the vtk files for now as I could not open the case.foam file.

Perhaps I missed the last GUI update, so I will download it again and check the results.

well, i am still struggling to get my CoP forward!! I had a bad are of recirculating air down the side of the cockpit that I thought might be hindering the extraction of air from the front diffuser area.
So a complete redesign of the rear end to smooth out the airflow front to back and I still don't think it's going to help :(
Not to mention my cooling package still is not getting enough flow :(
good luck everyone else on solving your own issues.

Haha, now that you also have to design good cooling ducts this challenge has gotten pretty difficult. You should watch out for JJR. I always suspected that he was not using MWFlow. (I never used OCCFD, just the settings) But now that he has the settings for the cooling air flow his next car might destroy all of you. As CAEdevice does not use CFD anymore I wonder what HP-Racing and esp. Variante will do. I am hoping for very exiting and new solutions.

I do use CFD: I have been without available hardware resources for a couple of weeks, but since yesterday I have a i5-4400 + 16gb RAM and it is literally burning in order to be ready for the next race. To have a limited number of possible simulations has been useful to concentrate about details and other cars numbers...

I have new exhausts (compliant with the new rules update), different exit angles for both front and rear diffuser but no exciting new solutions... It will be very hard to be as fast as JJR. I am curious about Variante and HP.

woohoo....
CoP has gone from 2.42 to 1.67 really happy with that but cost a little downforce at the rear and a touch of drag.

That is indeed a very elegant car. I wonder about the cooling air path. It looks like this car is taking advantage of the relaxed rules. I also like the new blog. The last days I started wondering on how to show more CFD results as it is what the challenge is about. I hope we will see more CFD images from the participants.
Also some advice to Ft5fTL (and everyone else): Please make sure to follow the rules. Repeated violating of a rule which was marked as minor or pointed out otherwise in the complainace checks will result in a penalty. So read the rule book and all of your previous complainance check emails and make sure that your cars are clean.

if i remember right the old rule book said that suspension template was allowed to pass through the cooling duct, the new rules do not mention this is it still allowed?

Id be interested to see how Ft5fTL's car does as it is not too dissimilar to a car I created the other year. That one was awful performance wise.

I always forgot something on the rulebook that causes me get penalized :). I triple checked this time though.

Hi, this "should" be the car for Sepang. I am not 100% about some details because WFlow has problems after meshing (see the official forum) and I could not test them. Also the balance is work in progress.

I noticed that the new rules about the exhausts made my solution not legal (too far from rear wheels axle), I will have to re-design it.
I am trying to use an older release of WFlow to solve the other issue.

Thank you. At the moment the biggest changes are the suppression of some winglets and a different exit angle for rear diffuser.
