BMW Sauber F1.06

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

the nosecone underside and the front wing interaction is odd in this car because BMW chose not to use the spoon shape element in the center of the front wing(i.e. toyota) that is used to efficiently split the air that is pushed up by the wing around beginning of the monocoque. in this case the center of the front wing is inefficient.

Furthermore the no keel front suspension design meas that the front of the monocoque is unlike that of the f2003GA or the renault chasis.

looking at the malaysian GP qualifying results I would have to say that the strength of the team lies in the engine's great "last-ability" when compared to the other teams, like the two ferraris or alonso's renault.
