Sidepod intakes are interesting. Wonder what's the reason of this design is?
To force a bigger amount of airflow under and around the sidepod intakes to the back of the car?

Yes. it's wheelbase is same as SF-16H.

Still it's hard to workout whether there is a secondary inlet opening, or just vanes to scavenge as much air as possible from the top of the sidepod.
I wonder if this development is inspired by their road-car department, where they used ducting to direct air where it is needed for quite a long time.

Is there any way that those aero parts ahead of the sidepod opening could be accelerating air into the sidepod to increase cooling effect? Or wouldn't that work without creating unwanted drag?

more exciting looking than the merc... maybe because of those secondary inlets... looks good,aggressive,detailed... hope they can give mercedes a run for their money!

That confirms it for me.
Its not a secondary inlet. It is indeed just a gap between the vane and actual inlet.
And the vane doesn't overlap the sidepod, it actually joins with it. Nice.
I'm impressed with the innovation from Ferrari this time around

Note, that doesn't mean that the shape thereof is not designed to grab more airflow that would otherwise go over, and redirect it into the sidepod intake, acting as a secondary intake...

btw i really like the way the floor has a 'cut' where the pillar that connects to the sidepod is, you can see it from the rear shots and from the shot timbo just posted. lots and lots and lots of vanes and ways to direct air.

i'm thinking this car is going to be berserk fast in corners.
