We can also scrap Perez, do a 18 cars season. Afterall, it’s the car, not the driver.

Thank you for that, Zeph. Fascinating to see Norris floating t the top 3 (and Alonso's deflation).

I took your numbers and made a graph of real vs this thread points. It is remarkable how resilient the point system is to sliding all drivers by 1 position. It takes the log-log scale to see the inevitable effect on the small points, but otherwise, almost nothing happens!
Except Norris's climb with 19 cars (those 6 wins! Why was he considered a never-winner?!?!) and also Russell's allergy to the top positions, Sainz's too to a lesser extent.

I guess you're a Verstappen fan?

We can all agree this thread is not particularly useful, just entertaining. But if nothing else, it serves to highlight just how good Verstappen is. Yes, the car is the most dominant ever. This thread illustrates that as Perez easily beats Hamilton in the WDC, but the points difference isn't that egregious.

Verstappen beat the runner-up (his teammate) with more than DOUBLE the points. That is what makes him special.

I'm not a fan, and I for one feel he did not legitimately win the 2021 title. But there is no refuting his accomplishments since.

No, I hate Verstappen as much as the next man, and this thread has been super entertaining. I would have hated it if a thread like this appeared for 2020. But luckily this is not the kind of site where that is entertained.

Sarcasm modus off. This has been incredibly poor, a literal attempt at wishing Max away where we had a decade of dominance before when a thread like this wasn’t even considered. It paints a very clear picture.

There is, literally, a “Mercedes did not show up in 2014” thread, linked in the first post.

If you go looking for enemies, you are likely to find them, but in this case, there aren’t any!

No, you erased him from the equation.
