Senna? Not sure. But it was asked by a reporter that wanted to know his secret for driving. He wouldn't tell, as it was a secret, but he gave that quote.

For me, I've learnt that brakes are also good for doing a (surprisingly) quick 180 degree rotation and ending up in the gravel.

My favourite was delivered to a friend of mine in the hire car queue at Barcelona airport. As he was waiting to collect his car, he realised that the guy in front of him was Damon Hill, who it turned out was flying in for a mid-season test at Jerez.

My friend is an F1 fan, so he asked Damon for an autograph and they got chatting. This was in Damon’s dreadful final season with Jordan and my friend found him amazingly frank about badly things were going for him and how he just wanted out of the game.

Eventually they got to the front of the queue and my friend couldn’t help but burst out laughing when the car-hire guy asked Damon Hill if he could see his driving license.

Damon simply turned to my friend and said “Hmm .. He must have seen Monaco”.

It's not a racing quote per se, but a great automotive one.

My grandfather had a friend, well, since he is still alive he may still have this friend, who owned(s) a Rolls Royce.

The owner was also a mechanic that did all his own work on his cars. When the rear axle of the car broke, he ordered a new one from RR. When the axle arrived weeks later, with no bill, he wrote a letter explaining how he had not received the bill, and knowing it was not going to be inexpensive, wanted to get it taken care right away.

Some time later he received a letter from Rolls Royce, signed on company letterhead by the president of the company:

"Rolls Royce axles don't break."

I remember that quote a bit different , referring to

how amazing it is d how many drivers do not realise the steering wheel is

effectively a brake -was this in one of haneys books? perhaps,- the racing&perf. tyre-.. or some caroll smith quote ..I tend to the second one...

but for me the quote of the year was made by Heidfeld in the aftermath of Sutil
rejoining the track and wiping him out in singapore when asked what he thought about the incident he replied :
